A G.S.C. bronze tablet stamped 72-U-169 and set in a concrete wharf for pleasure boats in Port Elgin, Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron opposite an orange building (Casino), immediately northeast of public beach. Tablet in top of wharf at southeast end at 90 degree corner of the wharf, 4.8 m NE of lamp standard with control box, 4.2m NE of west edge and 0.3m SE of north edge of the wharf.
Coordinates updated October 2018 based on field sheet and Google Earth (previous position: 44.445, -81.401944). Condition updated to destroyed based on May 2019 field notes, pier likely resurfaced in 2013. |
