A CHS Bronze table set vertically in the walkway along the Canso Canal. The Tablet is 8.1 m north of northerly lock gates, 4.6 m from the canal sidewall and 0.2 m from the light standard. Atlantic datum elevation in 1994 was 4.371 m (calculated from Gulf Datum value Stn. 1579). Visual inspection of benchmark suggests it appears to be sinking relative to surrounding concrete. The elevation value for benchmark 94N9003 was updated in 2019 to reflect the new elevation value after completing a GPS occupation using 94N9002 as the reference benchmark. Benchmark 94N9003 was originally recorded on Canso Lock Gulf Datum in 1994 stored under stn. 1569. An updated value is provided for Gulf Datum (2019) in stn. 1569. To convert to the Gulf datum elevation subtract 0.299 m. |
